IN A HAWAIIAN VILLAGE

In a Hawaiian village at Waikiki,
Tropical hula heaven across the sea,
Strolling along the gardens where orchids grow,
Strumming on ukuleles where tradewinds blow,
Wonderful place for having a honeymoon
In a Hawaiian village where love's in bloom.
While we are dancing moonlight romancing in the tapa room,
The beach boys sing a tune about the lazy moon.
Chief Hanale will brighten your day
And show us heavenly Hawaiian hospitality.
In a Hawaiian village we'll rendezvous,
Living like kamaainas, our dreams come true
Tropical heaven for you and me,
In a Hawaiian village at Waikiki.
Due to the title, copyright date and reference to the Tapa Room, it may be assumed this song was written for
the opening of Henry J. Kaiser's Hawaiian Village Hotel, a practice common since the 1927 composition for
the opening of another hotel, "Royal Hawaiian Hotel."
