Oh Honolulu, you're a wond'rous paradise
Dear Honolulu, I love your moonlight and blue skies
I want to live like the natives do and be happy all day long
And I want the world to hear my song

Hawaiian moon and tropical hula maidens seem to dance and croon to a native tune
I'm just a malihini haole boy and it thrills me thru and thru
I love to change like tropical hula maidens and to move and sway in that funny way
'Cause I want to do like the natives do so I can be a kamaaina too

'Aloha mai' they all say to me
'E komo mai' they're inviting me
He inu ika okolehao, malama pono oe
Ahahana ehehene

I've learned to say 'Mahina malamalama' and they taught me to do the hula ami hou
So Honolulu I can always say I'm a kamaaina now
